The federal government has launched the national single window (NSW) project, also known as the digital trade portal, as part of efforts to reduce bureaucratic bottlenecks and improve the ease of doing business.Speaking with TheCable on Wednesday, Oluwafemi Ogundoro, publicity consultant at the NSW secretariat, said the first phase of the project was unveiled at a press parley on Tuesday,Ogundoro said the press conference served as an opportunity to invite stakeholders to begin registration, adding that the platform is scheduled to go live on March 27.
Speaking during the conference, Wale Edun, minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy, said the initiative would enhance business efficiency and competitiveness, particularly in export activities
Also speaking, Jumoke Oduwole, minister of industry, trade and investment, said the pilot phase will begin with one shipping line and one logistics operator, DHL.
Oduwole said the platform would initially integrate key regulatory agencies, including the Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Service, the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA), the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC)
