CMA CGM Group is set to acquire FedEx Supply Chain (FedEx SC) for $1.4bn in a move that will almost triple the size of the group’s North American contract logistics operations under its CEVA Logistics subsidiary.
The acquisition target is the former third party logistics business GENCO, which was bought by FedEx in 2015 for the same $1.4bn pricetag and rebranded in 2017.
The CMA CGM deal is expected to be approved and finalised this year and will see the integration of FedEx SC’s nearly 10,000-strong workforce and 150 warehouses into CEVA Logistics, doubling the number of staff and increasing storage facilities to 240 units across the region.
The two companies have also agreed to what they call “multi-year commercial agreements” for air and ocean freight that will make CMA CGM the preferred ocean carrier for FedEx in ocean transport and carrier services under a non-exclusive agreement.
According to CMA CGM, these agreements will be phased in between now and 2028.
Rodolphe Saadé, chairman and CEO of CMA CGM Group, said: “The acquisition and partnership with FedEx represent a major step in the development of CEVA Logistics and our logistics activities in North America. We are strengthening our ability to provide customers with integrated supply chain solutions.”
The FedEx SC deal is the latest in a series of acquisitions to expand CEVA Logistics; in December 2025 it acquired project logistics specialist Fagioli Group in a process finalised in March 2026. In April last year, the company acquired the logistics arm of Turkish company Borusan, and 2024 saw CMA CGM purchase Bolloré Logistics for €4.85bn.
In March 2025, CMA CGM said it was set to invest $20bn in the US maritime economy over four years, across ports, shipping, air freight and logistics
